Testing

From the 1970s onwards the development of increasingly complex IT solutions brought with it the need for a professional quality assurance function in system development. Therefore a specially designed procedural model was created at this time by Boehm. The testing process was divided into three different phases which corresponded with the levels of abstraction in the development phases: technical testing, integrated system testing for troubleshooting purposes and process and function-based acceptance testing. Verification and validation also play a central role in compliance management to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
