Analysis and Design

During the system development process the analysis and design phases of the project are the most important, because they involve defining the objectives and requirements for the new system solution. For standard software the requirements analysis forms the basis for the evaluation. The design phase and functional specification are needed for software that is being specially developed or customized. During the analysis phase the customer’s and the user’s requirements are structured in business terms. The design phase comes next and involves identifying the part of the requirements which will be covered by the new solution.
